I am officially hooked on American Idol. Having never watched the show before, it is all new to me. Last night, they had a theme night. Theme night? I thought that was fun until I heard the theme: Stevie Wonder songs. I love Stevie Wonder as much as the next person, but let’s face it. His songs are super hard to sing. For the most part, everyone sucked last night. Chris was good, but he’s always good. His was the only performance that looked like part of a real show and not a gig on American Idol. I think he’ll probably win, but my favorite is still Taylor Hicks. As Simon put it last night, he is like the dad that gets drunk at a wedding and sings. The only difference is that he is good.

As soon as the show was over, Danelle emailed me to ask if I saw the performance. I watched every second of that two hour special, except for the five minutes surrounding Taylor’s performance. Mia, Mike and I were sitting on the couch and everyone else was in bed. Echo snuck out of my room and started running through the house. He ran into something [??] that knocked him down and left a big dent in his forehead which is now a lovely bruise. As you can imagine, he was screaming at the top of his lungs. When I got him settled enough to talk, I asked him what happened. “Mia punched me.” “No, Mia was sitting by Mommy. Did you run into something?” “MIA pause PUNCHED pause ME!” I can’t believe he was making up a story like that!

So, this morning I checked YouTube and there it was! I [heart] YouTube.
