making a difference
Last year I posted about Addie’s story. Thanks to donations from people like you, Mieke was able to raise $8,000, helping Team Adelaide raise $18,000! This year, their goal is to reach $20,000. Here is a message from Mieke:
I know you are bombarded with requests for donations to various charities all year long. I know how tedious it is, but this is so deeply personal for me I must ask. If you can only give $5 or if you can give $500 – we need your help to try to save Adelaide’s life. The one year anniversary of our discovery that Addie has CF was a few days ago. We were all so devastated last year, consumed with our grief. Now our focus is only on finding a cure so that Adelaide can live a full and carefree life. The great news is that Addie continues to have 100% lung capacity! Elise and Scott have settled into a routine of giving Addie her meds and her twice-daily respiratory therapy sessions… Please click here to donate! Thanks again! [more]
I try to post links to fundraisers that I believe in. I know that each one of you may not be able to donate every time, but if this request catches you with an extra few dollars the cause is a worthy one! Every child should have the chance to live a happy healthy life, a life with a future. Addie’s future is much brighter today than it was a year ago and for that I’m grateful.
The post her mother wrote... a must read.
