Southern New Mexico State Fair

the classic alien straw holder

This year’s fair was much smaller than previous years, or at least it seemed that way to me. No tree man. No petting zoo. No monster truck rides. There also weren’t as many people. Mike pointed out that last night was the Mayfield football game, so attendence was bound to be low. [!] It’s a good thing we missed that game. Mayfield lost to a New Mexico team for the first time since 2004. Down by 6 they were stopped at the goal line in overtime. How’s that for exciting?!

Anyway, I love looking at the animals and the people and the lights so it was all good. One of my favorite moments? I was trying to take a picture of one of the rabbits when it stopped, stretched and yawned. Like, lady is that the best you can do? LOL… I even bore the farm animals.

I love the picture of the yawning rabbit. I wanted to go to the State Farm up here this year but I didn’t. I decided I probably shouldn’t waste the gas since the only reason I was going was to use the photobooths there and to eat cotton candy.
