RIP

RIP

Last year, we got two kittens. Charlie, Bleu’s cat, ran away and never came back. Gabby, Mia’s cat, stayed and became a part of the family. He slept with Mia and when he wasn’t outside he stayed in her room. Yesterday, he was hit by a car in front of our house. We live on a busy street, so it wasn’t a surprise, but that didn’t make it any easier for the kids. Mia found him just before the big rush of school traffic. Mike wasn’t home, so I had to wrap Gabby in a towel and get him out of the road. Sometimes I hate being the grownup.

One of my rosebushes died last summer. This seemed like a perfect time to replace it. We buried Gabby by the fence and planted a new rosebush over him. Mia and Jon took it the worst. They are both very sensitive, so we had a lot of tears. We’ll miss him…

Gone, but not forgotten.

So sorry to hear about this. Our dog Brewster was killed by a car a few years ago, and it was a terrible experience. Give your kids a condolence kiss for me!

Dang, the circle of life is a gift and a challenge! The transition all living creatures must make to death (and whatever lies beyond) is very hard for we humans to cope with. I’m sorry for the loss of your beloved pet, and especially for the heartache the kids are going through. Hope this doesn’t come across as trite or uncaring, but remember that this, too, shall pass. Peace and love to y’all.

I’m so sorry, Mia.
I know what it feels like to lose a pet. We lost our cat, Gizmo, a few years ago. And in the worst way too… although not as gorish.. it happened in our living room. He just collapsed right in front of us and slowly just stopped breathing. Nothing we could do. It happened so fast. I cried for days. We buried him in our back yard…. grass has grown over it but I know the exact spot regardless….

We’ll see them again someday.
God bless.

*hugs*

So sorry for the loss. I’ll bet she was a great companion. Hugs to all.
