When I picked Butterfly up from Head Start, there was a large poster hanging near the door. On it were handprints of the class done in blue paint around an anti-drug slogan. She was so excited about her day that the words were spilling out on top of each other:
Mom. I am NEVER going to be drug free.
You can’t make me.
Drugs are bad.I hate drugs.
I won’t be drug free. I won’t.
But kids don’t do drugs.
Only grown ups.
If moms and dads do drugs, that’s ok.
But not little kids.
Some people smoke drugs.
When you smoke drugs, it makes you ugly.
Bush is ugly.I’m NOT voting for Bush.
I think he smokes and doesn’t tell anyone.
His face is grey.
He is a man. If you are a man, you smoke.
That is gross. That is drugs.
I like Kerry. He is a girl.
Girls don’t smoke.
Go Kerry!
Go Kerry!
Needless to say, we had to have a little talk and clear up a few things!
