Enchiladas and Love
Cold enough? I think this is the coldest, iciest, snowiest winter I’ve ever seen in Las Cruces! It’s Saturday and boy is it a busy one. This morning we are having a yard sale. I’m hoping Mike will start working soon. He got a clearance from the doctor on the 27th to go back to work. It was pretty cool to look at his brain on the MRA. There was one section without any blood flow at all but he is still getting blood to all the important parts via detours. Anyway, this yard sale should give us some much needed cash flow.
Speaking of cash flow, the family is having a HUGE enchilada fundraiser today from 10am-4pm to raise money for David Polanco (married to Mike’s sister). He is having a lot of complications from surgery. I’m posting the email their daughter sent out regarding the event:
Hello All,
Just a reminder that TODAY is the Enchilada sale that has been put together to raise money for a family in need. We’ve set up this fundraiser for a member of our family who was recently diagnosed with cancer. He had to have a kidney removed as a result, and thankfully it seems as though all of the cancer was taken out completely. However, a lengthy recovery is now underway.
This has created a pile of medical bills as expected. But there have been complications with the surgery and he will be unable to work or support the family for quite a while. Unfortunately because of the care he requires his wife cannot work either.
If you’re in the Las Cruces area, we’re putting on an old fashioned enchilada sale to help raise money. $6 a plate includes red or green cheese enchiladas, beans, rice and salad. Please call Kayla at 575-571-9456 or Gina at 575-571-6449 to place pre-orders. Or just come in!
