I had the exact same thing happen to me except for not having the backup. I was hacked between the last release of WordPress and the current one. I guess there was a security hole that someone must’ve used to take advantage of a lot of people who were slow to upgrade.

Luckily, I contacted my hosting provider and they helped me through it. My posts were pretty much intact, but my blog is still screwed up in a lot of ways and I haven’t had the time to fix it all.

OMG! That is how many diaries and albums worth of memories gone? Good thing they were real so all your viewers can enjoy the mental memories of your shared life.

Gads, I would be completely devastated in your position. So many of your family memories have been captured in your wonderful photos, that it’s not such a total loss, but still…the loving words, the ups and downs…oh my!

Here’s to new beginnings, though. You were ready to start a new Life Chapter about now anyway, right?
